Combustion Services Inc., also known as CSI Services or simply CSI, has roots tracing back over 60 years. Founded in 1969 as a manufacturer’s representative for York-Shipley boilers, by 1988 the organization added a small service department to support equipment sales. That same year, the company was purchased by Current President and CEO Doug Tyger, a registered Professional Engineer, and business partner Larkin Canington. By the fall of 1991 Combustion Services Inc. was experiencing major growth, hiring many new employees and beginning construction on a new facility. The new facility included a fabrication shop to build packaged systems for customers, and greater storage space for stocking parts.
During the early 1990’s Combustion Services Inc. reorganized to fill a hole in the market. Most engineering firms which dealt with boilers lacked service capabilities, while purely service companies generally lacked engineering expertise to do in-house design work or to make credible recommendations for system changes. In contrast, CSI Services offered serious service muscle backed up by competent engineering. CSI Services would offer customers the opportunity to have their boiler rooms designed, installed and serviced by the same company over the lifetime of the equipment.
Always striving to work with the best, over the last 30 years, CSI Services has built lasting relationships with industry leaders such as Autoflame, Limpsfield Engineering, Miura, Johnston Boiler Company, McKenna Boiler, Cain Industries and Daikin.
Today, CSI Services is the oldest boiler service company operating out of York, Pennsylvania and continues to grow both in size and services offered. In 2018 the entire service fleet was overhauled, replacing old service vehicles with new ones and adding several new weld trucks, a utility truck, stake body truck, and a fleet of sales vehicles. In 2019 Combustion Services Inc became a Daikin Pro Center and hired new sales staff dedicated to handling customers HVAC projects.
